ESL One Genting Malaysian Qualifier format announced

 ESL One Genting will give a chance to one local team to earn a spot at the main event and play against names such as Wings Gaming, Fnatic, Digital Chaos, Virtus.Pro and NP.

The organizers just revealed more details about the third regional qualifier which is entierly dedicated to Malaysian squads.  

The qualifiers will be conducted in two phases. Phase one will consist of a number of local and LAN qualifiers with thirteen teams standing at the end of it. There are a total of six regions (Central Region #1, Central Region #2, North Region, South Region, Sarawak and Sabah), as well as a separate online qualifier that will supply between 1 and 3 teams to the last sixteen. Three more directly invited teams will be added to the second phase to make a total of sixteen participants. The teams will compete in a GSL group format, followed by double elimination bracket.

The Malaysian qualifier will also have a prize pool in both stages – the teams from each region that made it to the last 32 will receive between 50 RM and 500 RM, while the last sixteen in phase two have a guaranteed earning between 200 RM and 2,000 RM.
