Wings Gaming, champions of The International 6, will be joining the TI6 second and fourth placers, DC and Fnatic, at the ESL One Genting LAN finals.
The Guinness record holders for the "largest 1st prize in an esports tournament", Wings, will be returning to another ESL One event after their first place victory at ESL One Manila in April. As the third direct invite, Wings rounds off the list of direct invites for the event, leaving five slots open for teams advancing from the qualifiers.
The qualifiers witnessed the conclusion of the open qualifiers last week, and will be moving onto the European and Americas closed qualifiers on the 31st of October, and the SEA qualifiers on the 16th of November. A Chinese and Malaysian qualifiers will also be happening, however, the dates have not been announced.
So far, three of the eight teams participating in the tournament have been confirmed, they are: Fnatic, Wings and Digital Chaos.
ESL One Genting is a Dota2 tournament that will feature a prize pool of $250,000 and a LAN event held in Genting, Malaysia, at the Arena of Stars. Ticket sales for the LAN event, planned for the 6th to 8th of January, have started, and are selling fast - the pre-early bird and early bird regular tickets have sold out.
