No roster change for TI6 Champions, Wings Gaming

Don’t fix what’s working seems to be Wings Gaming's motto, as all the TI6 winning players rejoined the team four days before the fall shuffle deadline.

Same as all the Chinese teams, Wings Gaming released all their players in the drop period and now they are the first from the region to officially confirm their line up for the fall season. Three of their players rejoined the team on the first day of the roster invite period, followed by the fourth player a day later. Li 'iceice' Peng completed the Wings roster yesterday, September 13th.

Wings Gaming roster:

China Chu 'shadow' Zeyu
China Zhou 'bLink' Yang
China Zhang 'Faith_bian' Ruida
China Zhang 'y`' Yiping
China Li 'iceice' Peng

The five Wings players went in the span of one year from being completely unknown to winning The International 6 unfolding an amazing story of dedication, passion and innovation. Their absurdly large hero pool, ever-changing strategies and unpredictable play style challenged the entire professional Dota 2 scene at every tournament they played in.

Starting with baby steps, taking a victory over Team Secret last year in December at WCA, Wings Gaming had a lot of ups and downs. Not even qualifying for the Shanghai Major they came back stronger and won their first big LAN at ESL One Manila in April this year after which they struggled again to reach the finals of any other tournament. Only in June they started to reach their form and gave strong signals that they were here to win it all when they made it into grand finals of Nanynag Dota 2 Championships and then then took The Summit 5 trophy home a month before TI6.

Going to Seattle for the biggest tournament of the year as China’s first qualified team, Wings ensured an upper bracket start in the main event and once they stepped into the big scene of KeyArena, they didn’t lose a single series. Wings Gaming reached the grand finals from the upper bracket at TI6 and took the Aegis home after a 3-1 win over Digital Chaos.
