The details of the first ever Dota2 Asia Championship was announced during their 1,000,000RMB giveaway promotional event. The Dota2 Asia Championship is an invitational tournament which will feature ten competitors from all over the globe.
The Dota 2 Asia Championship is an invitational tournament by Perfect World and will be organized by MarsTV, it is slated to be the next big LAN event in China. The tournament is estimated to start in January 2015, and the invited teams will be announced in the coming weeks here. A total of ten participants will enter the competition, including six teams from the East, two from the West and the top two teams of DSPL.
This tournament increases the number of competitions hosted by MarsTV in China, after the launch of their collaboration with Perfect World earlier this year. Their most notable event was known as "MarsTV DotA2 League", and it took place in May 2014. NewBee, the champion of The International 4, earned their first gold medal in this tournament, after their 2-0 victory against LGD in the finals.
