DK destroys Tongfu to win Fengyun Championship

After six days of play over Christmas holidays, Fengyun Championship came to an end earlier today with DK annihilating Tongfu in the grand final of the tournament for $10,000. Tongfu walked away with an abysmal $2,400 for placing second in the competition while iG won $820 for third.

DK came from the upper half of the bracket and had to face a tough selection of teams such as Vici Gaming and LGD.cn before moving into the finals. They started off in RO16 against Tongfu.Wanzhou but had no problem elongating the former Team Adidas' losing streak to 0-20 since their one game win over Team Impervious two months ago. DK went on to face Vici Gaming, regarded by some to be the best Chinese team at the moment, and had no problem beating them 2-0. LGD.cn was DK's opponents in the semis and they were able to take a game off the dream team. DK did not lose composure and picked Tiny and Io in the deciding game and tore through LGD.cn's 4-protect-1 strategy to guarantee themselves at least a second place finish.

Tongfu on the other hand, had shaky performances all throughout the tournament but they were still able to get into the final through a series of 2-1 finishes against For.Love, Speed Gaming and Invictus Gaming. The day was particularly tough for Tongfu because they had to play Invictus Gaming and the former The International champion brought Zhou and his teammates to three games. They played DK right after that and the fatigue clearly took its toll. DK destroyed Tongfu in game one before Tongfu tried a Huskar and Slark pick in game two. The game was fairly close and Tongfu seems to be on the right track to equalize the score until four Necronomicons were bought by DK. Still traumatized from the loss in game two, Tongfu lost game three as well without much of a contest.
