Speed Gaming scandal revealed an hour before their MLG grand final match

Marco A. Fernandez, CEO of Speed Gaming, has made headlines again as he posted a very controversial statement on their website regarding his team just an hour short of their grand final match in MLG Columbus.

In the 2901 words entry, Fernandez stated that Weir, the owner of Rattlesnake and investor of Speed Gaming, is duping the players and in order to protect their best interest, he has been fired from the organization. Fernandez claimed that Weir is deliberately withholding Speed players' salary and will be renting a place for the team to stay in Nantong instead of the agreed Shanghai or Hangzhou. After he has received the boot, Fernandez said Weir would come into chatrooms and laughed at him while provoking him to take legal actions.

Fernandez also stated that the captain of Speed Jacky'EternalEnvy' Mao has also been going behind his back to talk to Weir about firing him for being shady. "Shady" was a word repetitively used in the statement to describe the players' thoughts about him.

"As for now, the contracts are no longer valid and players are free to choose what they think is the best for them, even the name ‘Speed Gaming’ isn’t exactly the best name and I was against it from the very beginning but we got really far. This project got destroyed by a greedy person, who thinks he can do what he wants, because of the money he owns," wrote Fernandez to highlight that Speed Gaming players are now free agent. MLG confirmed that the prize money will be dealt directly with the players instead of the organization.

"Well I am shocked and upset I don’t know if I should tell this to players or not yet but I am afraid this might ruin their performance so I might just wait and make it public once they finish the event," Fernandez ironically stated in the statement.

We reached out to Weir yesterday knowing Fernandez will post this and Weir laughed and said, "I don't really care about what he said, it is just words. He was our manager, we fired him because the players ask me to fire him, they don't trust him."

Weir added that he did pay the team and they will most likely go to China to compete in G-League. The trip will be sponsored by GameFy and the team will be housed in a hotel near the studio, fully paid by GameFy. The Chinese investor did not mention if the team will continue to stay in China after G-League.

Since the news was posted on Reddit an hour ago, it has received over 339 comments with most comments stating that Fernandez is lying to protect himself. Adam Apicella, EVP of Major League Gaming commented, "Why in the world would you post this before the finals? Just spoke to the players back stage to make sure they're in good spirits for the finals. What an awful thing to attempt to do. On the bright side, the players laughed at this article and are anxious to tell their side. Good luck to the players in the finals."

With the Speed Gaming five getting ready for their grand final game, we contacted Charlie 'Monolith' Yang, former Team Dignitas team manager and currently stand-in manager for Speed, to comment about the situation.

Charlie 'Monolith' Yang's statement:

I can't comment on the validity of the statement, but I wouldn't accept anything without full proof and documentation based on my knowledge of the circumstances and encounters. Right now my only focus is making sure the team is as focused and prepared as possible for the upcoming match.

Mao assured fans that his teammates are not affected by the article and they will try their best to win MLG Columbus. We will try to get to one of Speed's player for an interview after the game.
