Liquid to compete in Korea, RS.int also confirms participation

The American squad will join a Western lineup of Team Dignitas, Virtus.Pro, and Fnatic in Korea for the upcoming OGN Dota 2 Invitational, the team's first LAN event since the roster shuffle.

Following yesterday's announcement of the event and the list of participating teams, OGN and Nexon have confirmed today yet another participant for the upcoming OGN DotA 2 Invitational. Team Liquid has accepted the invitation and will be part of the first batch of international teams to play in a weekly challenger series against one another as well as against Korean teams chosen from the Nexon League. The first week of these series will be played starting October 28.

Invited teams (updated):

Europe Fnatic
United States Team Dignitas
Russia Virtus.Pro
United States Team Liquid
Europe Rattlesnake.int
China DK

Tournament officials have also extended Invitations to a number of other teams, including DK (declined), and Rattlesnake.int (pending decision). We will keep you updated on the next batch of particpating teams as well as further details of the event.

Gosugamers has also been contacted by the author of the original ThisIsGame announcement. He asked us to convey that there had been a typo in their original piece, and that the actual dates for the weekly series are Monday and Thursday, not Tuesday and Thursday.

Update #1: According to a statement from their manager Marco "Thyton" Fernandez, Rattlesnake.int has accepted the invitation and will also be playing their first ever LAN event as a team in Korea.

Update #2: We have been informed that DK's initial declined participation was part of a misunderstanding regarding the event format which DK thought was going to be a month-long league. Now that they have been notified of the weekly series format, DK has accepted the invitation.
