The second and final online qualifier for the ASUS Rog Dreamhack Summer Dota 2 tournament was played yesterday and the new Dreamhack names are Space (ex-Absolute Legends), Lions Pride and uebelst.
The past weekend saw the beginning and the end of Dreamhack Summer Qualifier #2, where two teams were supposed to make it through, namely the upper bracket winner and lower bracket winner. But due to PowerRangers dropping out of the competition the administration decided to replace them with a third team from the qualifiers. PowerRangers were earlier granted a spot due to their Techlabs attendance. Natus Vincere won the competition at Techlabs but since they were already qualified, the spot was given to the runner-ups of PowerRangers' last qualifing match.
This qualifier however saw no Swedish team emerging at the top, as opposed to last qualifier where both TCM and 4FC qualified. Instead, Danish squads Lions Pride and Space (the roster formerly known as Absolute Legends) reached the upper bracket final, thus granted a spot in top three and by the same token qualified. Finally, the last team to join them was German team uebelst-gamynG. The remaining two spots however are reserved for teams coming from the BYOC (bring your own computer) qualifiers taking place on the first day of the event, June 15.
In other news, mousesports will not be attending DH with their full roster as Max 'qojqva' Bröcker will not be able to attend due to school obligations. Instead, Kaipi's offlaner Pittner 'bOne7' Armand will be going to the event as a stand-in, as announced by manager Florian 'PaisY' Schmedes on his twitter.
