ESL have announced scheduling and formatting for ESL One: Cologne 2017.
With less than a month till the start of the LAN finals, ESL have announced formatting and scheduling for their flagship event, ESL One: Cologne. This year's edition will see sixteen participants duke it out for $250,000 at the Laxness Arena in Cologne, Germany on July 4th-9th. Twelve of the participants received direct invites, whereas four of the teams were admitted via regional qualifiers, namely the European, North American and Chinese.

Regarding formatting, ESL have decided to use a Swiss, best-of-one system for the group stage. As for play-offs, matches will be best-of-three, single-elimination barring the grand final, which will see a best-of-five series.Â
