MLG Major kicks off today
The first round of group stage matchs took place at MLG Columbus 2016 today, one the most hyped events of the year. Already the tournament is off to a good start, with several back-to-back matches going down to the wire, as well a as viewer count that is already topping 700,000. Hellraisers wins Copenhagen Games
Hellraisers pulled off a relatively comfortable first place finish this week at the annual Copenhagen Games, defeating E-Frag 2-0, first with a triple overtime win on de_inferno and then a 16:5 on de_dust2. The Slovakian team took home $20,000 for their placement, while their Bulgarian opponents had to make do with just $9,000.
Orgless drops SKTTEN
The international roster of Orgless has been on the hunt for a final player to round out their roster, but it seems that they will have to go on looking as their most recent trial player, Alexander "SKYTTEN" Carlsson, announced this week he will not be playing with the team moving forward. According to the team, this was due to the fact that the former Orbit in-game leader didn't agree with the team's strategic philosophy.
i-League qualifier invites announced
With the announcement that the StarSeries i-League will see its offline finals taking in place in their home country at the end of the year, Chinese teams are clamoring to find a spot in the event to compete; this week StarLadder released the full list of teams that will be attending their China-exlcusive qualifier tournament. The list includes the majority of the top teams from the country, notably Vici Gaming (featuring the former roster of CyberZen) and the recently reworked Tyloo.
Mongolz drop two
The Mongolz have decided to make major changes to their starting lineup this week as they have announced they have decided to swap out two of their members Otgonjargal "Menace" Ganzorig and Bold "ncl" Batsuh to make room for new talent. The Mongolian team has seen tremendous success in recent months, having made it to IEM Katowice and the MLG qualifiers (although visa issues barred them from attending), so it is surprising to see such significant changes made.
