Immediately following the Electronic Sports European Championship, E-Frag tells us that they have plans to expand their tournament's reach to the entire world in 2015.
Belgrade, Serbia: During the LAN finals event of the Electronic Sports European Championship, E-Frag announced on stage that they will be hosting a tournament similar to their by-nation format, except on a global scale. Tentatively called it the "World Championship", it is said to launch in 2015. With it includes a "significantly increased" prize pool, teams from every continent, and an increased LAN size from 4 teams to 16 teams. Information on the qualifiers have yet to be released.
This is very exciting news, as it has tones of the World Cyber Games, which unfortunately "ceased operation" in the beginning of this year. However, instead of sending a single team to represent the country, E-Frag is known for a format similar to the "All-Stars" events in other eSports such as League of Legends where you get to see "Dream Teams" representing their homelands. Expect nations to announce their team rosters in the beginning of next year.
