To combat cheating at the upcoming Dreamhack, admins required that players competing at the tournament send their necessary drivers and .cfg files, among other anti-cheating measures.
On his usual Tuesday stream, LDLC's Richard "shox" Papillon mentioned that players had to send in their drivers and configuration files before Wednesday, as USB drives and internet access would be restricted at the event's PCs.
The news of the new regulation came up amid a whirlwind of several high profile VAC bans and cheating accusations that have ripped through the CS:GO community, and prompted tournament administrators to re-asses their rules to prevent future cheating at events.
A recording of the stream was posted to reddit, where Dreamhack and Gfinity admin Robert Jonasson confirmed the new rule, stating that "these things are just just a small fragment of what we are doing [to prevent cheating.]" Speculation ensued as to what other measures will be taken at the event.
