Hello there FuRy. Would you be kind and introduce yourself to the readers?
- Hi, Sebastian Pesic 20 years old, taking a year off and I live in Karlshamn [Sweden].
How does an ordinary day look for you?
- Well, it's always different, although before tournaments I play quite a lot. Besides that I watch movies, spend time with my friends and the girl.
How many hours a day do you play WC3?
- Usually 2-3 hours, but more just before tournaments and such.
When did you start playing WarCraft and why do you think you got stuck playing this game?
- I started playing just when RoC was released, and I don't really know why I got stuck, but it's not so odd, it is the best game I've ever played!
- I haven't switched after I joined up with 4K, which was half way into the RoC period, so it should be a sign. Nah, couldn't be any more satisfied, a wonderful clan. We're all friends and so on.
Tell me the history behind you joining 4K. What clans have you previously played in?
- Started out in Darkpraetors when playing StarCraft, played there until LaWn joined up and a bit more, then we joined xP and during some time there, when we reached #1 in the 2on2 ladder, we were offered a spot in 4K.
Speaking of LaWn, what has happened to him?
- He's dead... No, only kidding. He had no motivation left so he stopped playing. There are rumours going around that he is dota professional.
- Great! It wasn't that unexpected though, although it was nice considering we couldn't show up for WC3L Season 6 playoffs because we were in Korea.
You were there during the WC3L finals. How was the atmosphere there?
- Very good. Everybody were more or less nice towards eachother and the "fighting spirit" was all over the place.
You teamed up with Zeus there. How come you teamed up with him of all people?
- No one else wanted to team with him! Kidding! We simply decided it before the event and practised a bit.
The qualifications for WC3L recently finished, and in the end the Swedish clan Plan-B joined up to the league. How do you rate their chances in the league?
- It might go pretty well, although I wouldn't bet for a top position in the league.
What teams do you think will do extra well now just before WC3L?
- We [4K], SK, mTw, fnatic and mYm I think will be alright beacause they have proved to be the most stabile teams over the years.
In the first match you will take on mYm.Hanbit in WC3L Season 8. How do you think that will end?
- Don't know. Depends on the matchups.
Are there any players in mYm you'll have a hard time against?
- I guess all players are good. (Koreans)
- It was alright. Although the fact that the CS players played at the same time and shouted out loud behind you was pretty horrible.
What could have been better?
- It would have been better if they saved the replays. And that the WarCraft 3 players could play at another place than the CS players, or different time schedules or something.
What about the opposition?
- It was a tough opposition, it was with great difficulty I won against Ziebed in the LB finals - game everybody would have seen if they would have saved the replays...
You and SaSe could in the end be standing as Top 2 and had the honor of going to Paris to take part in ESWC. SaSe got eliminated quite early while you went a bit further. Were you pleased with what you achieved?
- I'm pretty pleased, although I got very tough brackets in the playoffs, plus that it was Single Elimination. I was totally pleased with my playing until the match against Reign, where I played really lousy because I was angry at the administrators.
Grubb managed to win ESWC and beat Apm70 in the Grand Final. Was Grubby a worthy winner?
- Absolutely. He is the best so he deserves to win. ^^
Better than you?
- I'll let the results speak for itself.
What was the funnest thing that happened during ESWC?
- When Grubby stole a mattress from the Spaniards' room and the hotel guard went totally nuts and wanted to kill us.
- Good.
You faced Crap999 in the final and beat him 2-0. What is your view on that opposition? Was he worthy enough to reach the finals?
- I believe he mostly got walkovers. Two or three, and no he was not worthy of getting ot the final. I had my final in round 2 already against Shourtround.
After winning the "regional" finals, it was time for the overall semi-finals where you faced SK.Hot. You managed to win against this top player with 2-0. Were they two very close games?
- They were two VERY close games but I played very goo and barely made any mistakes at all.
In the second semi-final WE.Remind beat T.MH]ShowTime, and you will now be put up against this good NE player in the Grand Final which is being played on Wednesday next week. Are you nervous?
- Very nervous!
Why?
- Because it's Remind and the fact that a lot is at stake. Not that I should think about it, but it's inevitable.
In the Northrend Ladder Season tournament MaDFroG fought for a place in the finals but was beaten by SK.HoT. What did you think of MaDFroG's participation?
- You'd better ask him. I don't know how much he practised nor cared, but being MaDFroG and all, I think he should have made it to the finals.
Speaking of MaDFroG, he is back again in his old clan SK and will [according to SK-Gaming.com] commit to the scene again
- We'll see what happens. I have no other comment than GL.
- The possibility to do different strategies is horrible, and the spellcasters are too bad. Too good - I don't know...
Many are complaining on coil+nova+impale. Do you think it's too good?
- No, it has already been nerfed once. Undead is based on hit 'n' run. All four races have different aspects they're good at.
It's more and more common these days to tech up fast to destroyers against most races. Is it a fact that destroyers are too good?
- It's probably the fact that other units are too bad in my opinion.
Against what race do you have the hardest time against, and why?
- Orc, no doubt, simply because you can't win if the players are of equal skill.
Any special strategy an Orc player uses that you have a hard time against?
- There are about 20-30 different ways for a good Orc to beat me.
A lot of people think that Night Elf is the race with least balance. Do you agree? Why?
- No. I think that Orc is more imbalanced, that's why.
"It doesn't matter much, all that matters is an expansion and 1-2 healing scrolls which you can get before the Undead player has reached up to Destroyers." |
- Expansion, then anything like Raiders, Headhunters, Kodos and Wyverns. It doesn't matter much, all that matters is an expansion and 1-2 healing scrolls which you can get before the Undead player has reached up to Destroyers.
Do you have any special tactics against the races you face, or do you adapt to your opponent?
- You always start with a build order based on what race you face, but then you always adapt depending the game play, and what map of course.
When you go up against a Night Elf player, do you prefer spiders [Crypt Fiends] over Ghouls? What do you do the most when playing versus Night Elves?
- Ghouls/Gargoyles. The rest is secret.
What maps favour Undead the most?
- Depends on what race you're facing, but overall big maps where you can take advantage of the speedaura to a maximum, say Gnoll Wood.
Any maps you dislike when playing ladder?
- Echo Isles, Lost Temple and all the unknown ones.
Does this patch include a lot of imbalance? What would you like to chance?
- Dryads are way too good. Destroyers are maybe a little too good against Human. Orc vs. Undead is a bit too hard, and everything I've written up there.
How come you chose Undead at first?
- I thought they looked the coolest so I chose them for that reason and I got stuck with it.
Which of the three players within each race is the best in the world?
Human: ToD, Sky, and then I don't know.
Nigthelf: Spirit_Moon, ReminD, Freedom
Undead: FoV, Reign, Gostop
Orc: Grubby, Dayfly Elakeduck
Let's say you're the clanleader and you were allowed to take any players to your lineup. How would that lineup look like? And why do you choose those players?
- FoV, ToD, Grubby, Zeus and Shortround, because team spirit is more important than individual players.
Alright, then we say thank you, and wish you good luck in future tournaments. Any shoutouts?
- I want to say hi to everybody in 4K, my friends and my girlfriend ^^, Yojimbo owns!
To give you a better picture of FuRy we [Busfisken] have contacted some known WarCraft players to hear what it is that makes FuRy such a good player.
Zubie: It's hard to for me to say, since I don't know him very well, but I could point out his motivation and his talent. :] If you got that you can pretty much go how far as possible. Then that he is a really nice dude IRL doesn't hurt either! ;) Fury FTW!
ElakeDuck
I guess that atmosphere in 4K and his time in Korea har helped him develop a lot, then of course a lot of training and talent. Last but not least his fiends are imba! :(
Chriss:
I think it's his great ambition for the game and the completeness, he looks to be very allround and has all the features and qualities a complete player should have.
GlavieGuy:
If it's not something genetic then it's the thing that makes everybody a top player a top player. His hard work ethics and his great experience.
LaWn:
The power to work so hard he does comes from his nourishing sandwiches. It's those that make him have the energy to do it, and of course his mother.
