We are glad to announce our first series of Overwatch tournaments: The GosuGamers Overwatch Weeklies!
GosuGamers has been interested in the eSports scene of Overwatch for a long time, and starting coming weekend we will be even more actively involved in this scene. Each weekend there will be two tournaments, hosted by GosuGamers. The European and American region will have their own tournament, both with $120 on the line for the winner of the tournament! A brief overview of everything is listed below.
Registration:
EU
- Registration starts at 9PST/12EST/18CET on Friday
- Check-in for the tournament starts at 6PST/9EST/15CET on Saturday
- The tournament begins at 9PST/12EST/18CET on Saturday
- Teams can register here
NA
- Registration starts at 12PST/15EST/21CET on Saturday
- Check-in for the tournament starts at 9PST/12EST/18CET on Sunday
- The tournament begins at 12PST/15EST/21CET on Sunday
- Teams can register here
For both regions counts that:
- The tournaments have a limited amount of spots, which is 16 per tournament
- Whoever submits first has the right to play
- It is allowed to compete in both regions
- Only players with access to the Overwatch beta may be registered
Rules:
- All matches are a Bo3
- To determine the winner, we'll use the Stopwatch format.
Stopwatch mode is based on the final map completion time, or furthest objective reached by a team. Should both teams get stuck on the same objective/checkpoint, they continue playing on the next map - The winning team is required to send a screenshot at the end of the match.
Map selection goes as follows:
- Any map available in-game is allowed to be picked
- One of the administrators of the tournament will do a coin-flip before the initial round, determining which team may pick their first map and also their role
- It is not allowed to re-pick a map
- From there on, the losing team may pick the next map to their liking, as well as the role they'd like to start as
To conclude...
