100 Thieves introduced a brand-new roster to the LCS next season

100 Thieves are going down a different route for its new roster.

Popular American organisation 100 Thieves have done away with its star-studded roster from this season and instead opted for a rebuild with an emphasis on young talent. One such player that will be looking forward to making his LCS debut is the young teenage top-laner Rayan “Sniper” Shoura who made the jump from its Challengers squad. Another youngster that will be making his LCS debut is the mid-laner Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung, formerly of Gen.G's Academy team.

But aside from talented youngsters within its own org, 100T also dug deep into the LCS Proving Grounds and Challengers League to bring on its new AD carry, Brandon “Meech” Choi. The former Disguised and Team Fish Taco player will be the third 100T player to make his LCS debut next season. And for its last two players, 100T decided to go down the experience route to get two LCS veterans.

Kim “River” Dong-woo is one such player as the jungler will bring plenty of composure and experience to the line-up having already competed in the LJL and PCS prior to joining the LCS. And lastly, there's Bill “Eyla” Nguyen to fill up the support role who joined after stints with both FlyQuest and the now-defunct Evil Geniuses.

This roster is a huge refresh from the star-studded squad that graced the 100T colours this season. But despite all that, 100T were not able to qualify for any international tournaments this year after two straight appearances at the world championship. They started the 2023 season well with a strong group stage showing during the LCS Spring Split but soon faltered during the playoffs with two straight best-of-five losses.

The Summer Split saw the team digress further down the table as it slumped to as low as eighth in the group stage, which was just enough to qualify for the playoffs once more. However, its run did not last long as they soon got eliminated by Team Liquid, which was the end of its run in just four games.
