Dignitas CEO "Odee" fined $1,000 for violating LCS ruleset

After saying some rather foul comments in Twitch chat during an episode of "Summoner's Insight", punishment has bestowed the owner of Dignitas.

Though he did publically apologize and Michael 'ODEE' O'dell, also worked things out with OnGamers, Riot considered many of the things he said slanderous and poorly representative of League of Legends eSports.

The outrage was caused when the hosts of the show Duncan 'Thorin' Shields and Christopher 'Montecristo' Mykles managed to offend the man.  Riot's synopsis of the offenses is as follows:

In late May, O’Dell was observed using offensive and vulgar language on a popular online streaming platform. We hold LCS owners to the same standards of sportsmanship and respect that we ask from players and consider this a clear infraction of that standard.

Additionally, to prevent his outburst from being censored by the moderators, O'Dell threatened to block press access to the team. This behavior is unprofessional, and unbecoming of an LCS owner.

This broke the rule that states in the contract with Riot Games for the LCS that "A Team Member may not engage in any activity which is deemed by the LCS to be immoral, disgraceful, or contrary to conventional standards of proper ethical behavior.".

Fans and viewers have largely stated that the punishment was not enough for ODEE, but others argue that it's more about sending the message and setting an example, claiming that the hurt reputation off these actions may be enough.  The fines total to $1,000 USD.
