Blizzard partner up with MLG, Dreamhack for the WCS

Two of the largest tournament organizers for Europe and North America respectively--DreamHack and Major League Gaming--will aid Blizzard into the enterprise called StarCraft 2 World Championship Series.

MLG will host two events for the SC2 WCS, the first one being the USA Nationals. Those will be held at the MLG Spring Championship on June 8-10 at the Anaheim Convention Center. A total of 64 players--coming from both the NA ladder and various qualifiers--will battle it out for $15,000 in prizing.

The second tournament is the North American Finals - a 32-player event consisting of the top 16 of the USA and Canada Nationals on August 24-26 and one with $30,000 in prizing. The top performing players at the NA finals shall be sent the World Finals in Asia.

DreamHack, on the other hand, will be Blizzard's partner for the Nordic Finals, to be held in Stockholm on July 28th. This was announced during the final day of DH Eizo Open Stockholm by DreamHack CEO Robert Ohlen.
