MPL ID Season 11’s playoffs kicked off today with a spectacular series between Alter Ego and Bigetron Alpha.
Throughout the Regular Season of the eleventh season of the Mobile Legends Professional League in Indonesia, Alter Ego struggled to really find form – and there were times were it seemed as though the once unstoppable squad seemed as though the playoffs were a distant dream. On the other hand, The Robots were able to hold their own – completing the double flawless victory over AE and taking third place in the overall standings. But the playoffs have now come and these two teams were ready to give us a magnificent Mobile Legends: Bang Bang showdown as they both looked to avoid elimination.
A back-and-forth for the ages
Going into the series, it seemed as though AE had no clue what they were doing, giving up Kaja, Wanwan, and Joy without any real bans that could counter their opponents. However, coming back in game two the team showed some signs of life.
Game three was when we began to see some intense gameplay, with Kenn’s Ling blasting a gigantic GPM of over 1100 as BTR took match point. Not wanting to see their tournament life over, it was Nino who came out to slice through The Robots, as his Melissa fell short of a SAVAGE while threading through enemies and taking us to a decisive fifth game.
Against all the odds, the final game was all-Alter Ego from start to finish, even with a few mistakes which could have gone against them. The team, having suddenly hit their switch in the playoffs, managed to pull off an amazing victory over BTR, and move on to face Rex Regum Qeon in the next round. Unfortunately for The Robots, their journey in Season 11 ends here, but Season 12 will have new opportunities for them to make a comeback.
