M5 World Championship: Team Flash - "We are going to take a short break"

M5 comes to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, December 17, but we have some teams fall by the wayside, including the brilliant Team Flash.

In the coming few days, we will witness the culmination of the M5 World Championship, as a team is crowned as the victor by Sunday, December 17th. However, some teams have come and gone during the tournament already, be it during the Group Stage or in the opening days of the Knockout Stage. Sadly, Team Flash was one such team, as they struggled in the early periods of the tournament and were unable to make an impact. We caught up with the Singaporean champions after their elimination to find out a bit more about what went wrong and their plans moving forward.

It was a tough tournament for Team Flash, where you did not really get into the swing of things. What is it that went wrong?

We started off strong with the win versus Burmese Ghouls but forgot our identity when fighting Team Lilgun and when we kept clashing with them as 5. Losing game 1 to AP.Bren was the last straw as it felt like we were throwing away opportunity after opportunity.

What did you learn from your Group Stage appearance at M5?

We learned the importance of maintaining our composure under huge pressure.

Many teams are trying out new things, especially during the Group Stage. For Team Flash it was the Helcurt and even Hayabusa. What is it that you see in these two heroes that could turn the tide?

Hades is an extremely gifted assassin player, and these were two heroes – which, despite not being meta, were a big reason why we won the MPL SG Champions hence we wanted to bring them out again.

What’s next for Team Flash? Are you guys going straight back into practice for next season or taking a well-earned break?

We are definitely going to take a short break and see where it goes from there.

What would you like to see changing for MPL SG Season 7 and the next batch of M-Series events?

I would like to see the other regions step up to challenge PH and ID for the crown.

Do you think that SG is going to be far more competitive in the coming year? Why?

Yes, with imports being the craze all over the world now we can expect even more talent in our local MPL.

While Team Flash only managed a 9th-12th finish at M5, the team remains in high spirits and hopeful for 2024 and what it brings for the team. We will hopefully see the roster back and ready to challenge the best when MSC 2024 rolls around and throughout the MPL seasons coming our way next year. For now, you can keep up with all the M5 World Championship action by staying tuned to our MLBB tab, where will have more interviews, results, and coverage of the ongoing tournament.
