MPL PH Season 11: Week 2 guides the meta

While Week 3 of MPL PH Season 11 is approaching, we look back at Week 2 and some of the more noteworthy takeaways from the teams and the meta.

Another weekend of amazing Mobile Legends Professional League action from the Philippines has gone by, and Week 2 saw some interesting results. However, the results are not as important this early on as teams still look to find their perfect fit into the meta – which seems to have been settled into now. However, results do matter, and some teams are really finding the way to perform at their peak.

Game time

Over the course of Week 2 in MPL PH Season 11 we saw a host of different game lengths, ranging from 12-minutes all the way through to just short of a half hour. With that said, the majority of the games ended closer to the 15-minute mark – which is prime time for any early-game drafts to excel. The games that have gone on much longer, while still having some of these drafts, seem to favour teams that have the mental fortitude to keep going until the final second, rather than pushing in an “all-in” fashion as soon as they can.

Picking what is right

With Week 2, the meta is definitely beginning to show, with the likes of Gloo, Ruby, and even Yu Zhong being shining examples of the way teams are looking to play. With that, Fredrinn is still a highly contested hero, with Brody, Karrie, and Melissa continuing to burst down their opponents. Oddly enough, Beatrix was only seen four times during Week 2, and only one of those resulted in a victory – which could finally see the multi-gun slinging hero fading away from the meta, although she is still a very focused ban in many occassions.

Bren battling it out

As spoken about before, Bren Esports seem to be on a charge back to the top of PH, and possibly the world, as they push themselves forward each week. After their initial loss to ECHO, Brten have had a string of what could be deemed as “easier” opponents, but only time will tell if they really are ready to take back the crown. With six weeks in MPL PH Season 11’s Regular Season still to come, anything can happen – maybe even TNC could win a game.

To wrap up, Week 3 will see some spectacular MLBB, with Blacklist and ONIC PH kicking things off on March 3, while Bren and RSG Slate PH will go head-to-head on March 4. We are looking forward to another epic weekend of action as we head forward in MPL PH Season 11.
