League of Legends ’ fans love K/DA, the fake pop band that premiered at the opening ceremony for the World Championship. To celebrate the success of the virtual K-pop group, Riot Games is giving a free update to one of the team’s most popular members: Akali. Players who purchase the skin will see her bright-neon outfit featured in the “POP/STARS” video when going invisible in her Twilight Shroud ability. The update will be hitting the PBE today, with a full release coming later in the month in patch 8.23.
The “POP/STARS” music video has more than 27 million views and inspired countless pieces of fan art online. Sung by Madison Beer, members of (G)-IDLE, and Jaira Burns, the song captured the minds of K-pop and League of Legends fans.
