Riot's Public Stance on "Inting Sion"

I recently made a post talking about the problems with inting Sion. It gained enough attention to warrant a public response from /u/riot_maple Here's a link to the post I'm talking about. However, the post itself is currently sitting at about 20 upvotes and I think it deserves more views, so I'll quote it here:

Just want to make a bit of a public-facing statement about how we feel about this strategy as a whole given some historical confusion with things like support Singed. Firstly, rather than referring to it as inting Sion, let's give it a bit more of a positive spin - Strategically Minded Sion if you will.

As LuluPix stated, this strategy is something that requires a fair bit of nuanced understanding in order to execute well as the Sion player. It also requires that your team is able to play around the pressure you can create in our lane, and not misuse the opportunities it grants. As of right now this is emergent gameplay that appears to be a valid strategy for a player/team who wants to win and isn't something that should be punished. With time and optimization, this strategy may end up actually just having really poor gameplay - or no real way to counter when played perfectly, but players and ourselves don't know enough about it yet to make that kind of call. If that ends up being true, we'll find a solution. If any accounts get incorrectly banned as a result of this strategy, our player support team will work with you to get your account unbanned.

Strategically Minded Sion is here to stay for now, and reporting teammates for trying it isn't something that should be punished.
