Continuing their intense period of restructuring, Unicorns of Love has released Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage, who will be the new starting midlaner for Origen.
Over the past several months, European LCS team Unicorns of Love have begun the process of restructuring their roster. The team struggled throughout the summer split, only managing a fourth place finish in the playoffs after falling 0-3 to both Fnatic and H2K Gaming.
In an announcement posted to their Facebook page, Unicorns of Love discussed the history of their restructuring period. In September, they listed their AD Carry, Pontus "Vardags" Dahlblom, as a sub, and announced they would be holding tryouts for the starting position, which Vardags himself would be participating in. In October, it was revealed their jungler, Jae-hwan "H0R0" Jo, would be staying in Korea “to fix some personal issues.” Finally, only a few days ago, it was announced that PowerOfEvil, their midlaner, would be switching to another team, though they could not specify as to which one.
The mystery was soon revealed on November 9th when it was announced that Origen's midlaner, Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño, would be stepping down, and PowerofEvil would be replacing him. For Origen, this means that they’ll be adjusting to the varied, somewhat bombastic play of their new midlaner, as PowerofEvil has been well known for his wide champion pool and off-brand picks. For Unicorns of Love, it means they have three vacant positions to fill, as only their toplaner, Kiss "Vizicsacsi" Tamás, and support, Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov, remain.
Xpeke leaves behind an illustrious professional career. He won the first ever world championship with his former team, Fnatic, he’s participated in almost every EU LCS split, and he created a new team that he helped take from the Challenger scene to the semifinals of Worlds in only a year.
