Despite dropping their spot to Complexity in the North American LCS, Team Coast is confirmed to be moving forward and participating in the Challenger Series.
In an interview with OnGamers, Team Coast owner Slan stated that despite the departure of Danny "Shiphtur" Le and Darshan "ZionSpartan" Upadhyaya, who have signed to Team Dignitas, the team will continue on. The owner says he is confident that the team will have the strongest line-up in the Challenger Series and is confident in their ability to reach the LCS.
"We aren't going anywhere. The changes we have made were in the best interests of the team and the players. Coast will be a stronger team after these changes. We are already guaranteed the #1 seed in the quarterfinals of the Challenger Series 1, and look forward to reclaiming our spot in the LCS."
"When our new line-up comes out, it will be clear how we plan to move forward".
Slan believes that any individually skilled players can work well on a team, pointing to Cloud 9 as a reference. Slan has also clarified that jungler Joshua 'NintendudeX' Atkins, ADC Apollo 'WizFujiiN' Price, and support Miles 'Daydreamin' Hoard are all still contracted through October 20th.
Despite this confirmation, it would seem NintendudeX might have other ideas and isn't necessarily bound by his contract. He may look to play for another challenger team.
Yes, I am still contracted with Coast until October 20th, but afaik I'm still allowed to play NACS elsewhere and have n0 obligations to them.
