Blizzard developers answered questions about the new Heroes Brawl mode and the new Blademaster hero.
Blizzard posted a Q&A thread on reddit, focusing on the upcoming patch, which will include Samuro and a new game mode, Heroes Brawl.
Here are some of the highlights:
Heroes Brawl
- Fountains will remain destroyable, but Blizzard will make a few adjustments to make them less vulnerable.
- Blizzard will focus hero balance on the standard modes, but will make tweaks for Brawl in some cases (e.g. Kharazim will get a different level 1 talent trait depending on which heroic he chooses).
- Matches in Brawl will grant account experience, but not hero-specific experience.
- While Blizzard does not plan to have Brawl creation contests, they do consider fans’ pitches for inspiration.
- Brawl’s MMR will be seeded from Quick Match.
- There are no plans to include talent choices.
- Some heroes are excluded from Brawl (e.g. Xul and Azmodan).
- Some Brawl variations might have different player number combinations (e.g. 3v3 or 4v4).
Samuro
- Samuro will not be playable at the BlizzCon tournament.
- When taking Illusion Master, the Mirror Images’ AIs change.
- With Illusion Master, the images perform periodic searches for targets. If there are no targets, the images stand idle.
- Without Illusion Master, the images possess laning-minion AI.
- He is voiced by the same actor in Warcraft 3 (Samwise Didier).
Miscellaneous
- At one point, Sylvanas’s Mind Control allowed her to use her target’s abilities.
- A “move and not attack” keybind is planned.
- Try mode might be greatly expanded.
- There are no plans to change any existing heroes’ abilities (even those that are reworked).
- Expect more announcements at BlizzCon on November 4-5.
