Alessio Isaia wins the €3,000 buy-in WPT Venice main event for €380,000. Alessio Isaia defeated Szabolcs Mayer in a staggeringly long heads up battle of over 8 hours. Mayer had to settle for second and the €228,990 prize at the Casino Municipale di Venezia in Venice, Italy on Tuesday February 8th.
Up until the heads up match, the play have been very swift, but heads up was a different matter. A very tired Mayer pushed all in with Q,6 of clubs and was called by the Italian Isaia's A,Q which held up after the heads up marathon.
