Jeffrey "SjoW" Brusi and Samuli "elfittaja" Sihvonen won last weekend's Go4SC2 Cup and ZOTAC Cup last weekend. This after defeating Dima "DIMAGA" Filipchuk and Lukas "Delphi" H respectively.
elfittaja four-gates to ZOTAC victory against Delphi
Game 1 @ Xel'Naga Caverns
We have elfi spawning at the top right position, Delphi bottom left, and we see the Finnish Protoss perform a four-gate attack on the German. Delphi made the wrong choice to take an early expansion right after his early harass, which left him behind in zergling count. When elfi's forces reached the zerg expansion it was an open street to victory for the Toss.
Game 2 @ Lost Temple
elfittaja went for some early Phoenixes that harassed Delphi's overlords early on. This forced him to throw money on spore crawlers and overlord speed while desperately teching up to hydralisks. Meanwhile, in the Protoss base, elfittaja teched up to Colossi and warped in stalker after stalker. With a sizable hydralisk force up, Delphi moved in for an attack at the Protoss natural expansion, but was fended off by some nice force fields and Graviton Beams.
Game 3 @ Blistering Sands
To finish it off, elfittaja once again performed a four-gate attack on the expanding zerg. After having warped in four stalkers in the main and three zealots at a proxy position, he advanced on Delphi's position to kill off the scarce amount of zerglings who tried defending in vain.
SjoW wins all-in battles against DIMAGA to take ESL Go4SC2 #77
Game 1 @ Scrap Station
The first game on Scrap Station turned into a pretty long Terran versus Zerg game (as opposed to the upcoming games). The Swede went for four barracks marine play, to later follow it up with some blue flame hellion harass. DIMAGA expanded at several places on the map, but was unable to withstand the pressure from SjoW's many troops out on the field. Being ahead in economics, and with better upgrades, SjoW could hold off the Ukrainians baneling/roach/zergling army at the end.
Game 2 @ Delta Quadrant
DIMAGA went for a six-pool to try and overthrow SjoW early. The Dignitas player was quick in blocking his ramp with two supply deopots and a barracks and could thus hold off the attack by repairing effectively. Shortly thereafter, DIMAGA calls 'gg'.
Game 3 @ Metalopolis
On Metalopolis it was SjoW's turn to fail with an all-in attack. The bunker rush at the zerg's natural expansion was razed by DIMAGA's pulled drones, and could then take care of SjoW's few surviving marines with his just popped-out roaches.
Game 4 @ Xel'Naga Caverns
In what would become the last game, both players took a more defensive stance in the early-game. Both players expanded at their natural, and started to macro up. SjoW went for a healthy mix of marines, marauders, tanks and medivacs, while DIMAGA has some insane numbers of banelings, accompanied by some mutalisks. SjoW was the one to push out, wanting that gold expansion in the middle, and was able to hold off the mass baneling attack which put him economically ahead in the game, and could take map control. NOt even the eventual ultralisks could help DIMAGA in the end, as SjoW's army was too huge in numbers.
