The two hottest high stakes poker players to start off 2011 have something in common. Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer and Di "Urindanger" Dang have each made more than one million dollars in the first few days of the year. Both players have been taking on notable opponents Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan to collect their winnings.
The younger of the two, Palmer admits that his username is a play on words of the elder Di Dang's username, who has been crushing high stakes for several years now. Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer is up more than $1.1 million playing predominately PLO.
Palmer scored his biggest single pot win of $352k against Antonius when he had 90% equity and held up when they ran it twice.
Di "Urindanger" Dang has had a long standing heads-up battle with Gus Hansen. They give each other a lot of action and Dang has had the better of it in 2011. Dang has won $290k on PokerStars where he plays as "ilvdnfl" and over $ 1million on Full Tilt, according to HSB.
Dang is particularly thankful of his recent good run after admitting in his recent Pokerstatic interview that he lost $1.2 million in the super high stakes matches that occurred last year in Macau.
Both of these young poker professionals should continue to make big waves in the high stakes world in 2011, so beware.
