No Man’s Sky ‘Remnant’ update introduces new gravity gun, recycling facility, and more

The Remnant expedition begins in No Man’s Sky, introducing new features, upgrades and rewards

Nearly ten years after launch, the vast space exploration title continues to deliver meaningful mechanical updates and quality-of-life improvements, notably for free. Hello Games has just dropped No Man’s Sky Update 6.2, titled “Remnant”, bringing a range of upgrades and new additions, including customisation options for the ground vehicle and an exciting new gravity gun.

Here are all the major additions in No Man's Sky Remnant update:

Colossus Exocraft Customisation

Explorers can now express their creativity and travel in style thanks to added customisation options for the Colossus Exocraft. Players can choose from a variety of cabin designs–each with unique cockpit layouts–alongside chassis attachments, running gear and paint finishes to personalise their vehicle. Configurations can also be saved and named for easy switching.

Developers have additionally introduced the option to install a tippable flatbed, allowing for easier transportation of large cargo hauls. An electromagnetic containment field helps prevent items from dropping while traversing uneven terrain, though explorers are still advised to drive carefully.

Gravitino Coil

A new Multi-Tool attachment, the Gravitino Coil, introduces an advanced lifting mechanic–or dubbed by the community as the gravity gun. This tool enables players to magnetise, repel, toss, transport and reposition physical objects–proving especially useful when harvesting resources or organising materials.

The Gravitino Coil can also be used in combat. Players can catch flying Sentinel Drones mid-air and hurl them into other enemies, making it a pretty solid maneuver in battle.

Cyclops Scope

Another addition to Exocraft technology is the Cyclops Scope. Integrated into the driver’s Analysis Visor display, this feature allows players to scan and discover alien fauna, flora, minerals and mission locations directly from the cockpit.

Waste Processing Plant

The update also introduces increased amounts of industrial waste scattered across planets. Players can collect metal scraps from this debris, and other more dangerous wastes–such as radioactive, explosive and toxic materials–before delivering them to a newly added Waste Processing Plant, which rewards explorers for clearing contaminated sites.

Rewards for the Remnant expedition

Alongside these changes, Hello Games has launched a limited-time event for the Remnant Expedition on a desert planet. Participants are tasked with removing dangerous industrial remnants from the environment.

Those who complete the expedition can earn a variety of exclusive rewards, including an asymmetrical cabin design, Balaron textile merchant-inspired exosuit armour, a limited-edition camouflage paint finish and more.
