Prepare for battle, as Elden Ring: Nightreign is about to raise the stakes once again.
FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will introduce a new Everdark Sovereign boss this week: Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, more widely known as the Darkdrift Knight. This powerful new variant will replace the current Everdark Sovereign version of Adel, Baron of the Night, one of the most formidable bosses in the Gaping Jaw expedition.
As anticipation builds, players are racing to defeat Adel before the change takes effect.
New Everdark Sovereign bossfight arrives this week
An adjusted timeline for the update's release has been confirmed. The Darkdrift Knight will appear in Nightreign on 26 June at 9pm SGT/10pm JST/3am CET, and 25 June at 9am EDT/6pm PDT.
The incoming boss continues the Everdark Sovereign rotation in Elden Ring Nightreign, a system that introduces tougher and more aggressive versions of the game’s Nightlords exclusively through online play. To face these elite versions, players must first have defeated the standard Nightlord in Limveld.
FromSoftware began rolling out these upgraded encounters unexpectedly last week, starting with a brutal rework of the Gaping Jaw boss. The Everdark Sovereign version of Adel, Baron of the Night, offered a serious test of skill, darting across the battlefield and even summoning a massive storm mid-fight.
These limited-time fights are built to challenge even experienced Nightfarers. Each Everdark Sovereign comes with increased damage, newly refined move sets, and exclusive abilities that raise the difficulty considerably.
Victories against these upgraded foes reward the player with Sovereign Sigils, a special currency that can be traded for powerful Relics and other valuable gear. Players earn bonus Sigils for their first successful clear, and can farm the boss repeatedly for more.
Fulghor, the centaur boss now arriving in his Darkdrift Knight form, has already proven formidable in his base state. Known for punishing close-range aggression and dealing high burst damage, his area-of-effect attacks can quickly overwhelm unprepared players.
With his enhanced version about to enter rotation, many in the community are preparing for what’s likely to be a far tougher challenge.
