Blacklist International continued their dominance despite a penalty they received in Week 2 of Philippines Kings League Spring 2025.
Blacklist International continued their flawless run in the Honor of Kings' Philippines Kings League (PKL) Spring 2025 with another clean record in Week 2 after defeating all three of their opponents with a 2-0 score. The team notably dominated their competition despite a penalty for indisciplinary conduct during their first game against Eureka, where they were stripped of their banning rights after being late for the day's matches.
Chammy "Chammy1" Nazarrea and his teammates defeated Team Flash PH on the first day of the week, where he and Golden "Goldenk1te" Hart Dajao earned the MVP nods for the series. In day two, Blacklist International defeated TNT Tropang Alab and thoroughly shut down the bottom-feeders of the league. The third day was more interesting as Blacklist International was penalised for coming in late, though it didn't make any difference as they still quickly dismantled Eureka.
Here are the Honor of Kings' Philippines Kings League Spring 2025 standings after the end of Week 2:
- Blacklist International (5-0) +10 Game difference (GD)
- Elevate (4-1) +6 GD
- RWE Kadiliman (3-1) +3 GD
- BOOM Esports (3-2) +2 GD
- A.C.T Esports Club (2-3) -3 GD
- Team Flash PH (1-4) -4 GD
- Eureka (1-3) -4 GD
- TNT Tropang Alab (0-5) -10 GD
Were TNT Tropang Alab not good enough for the PKL?
After two weeks of competition in the PKL, one team still hasn't won a single series in the tournament. TNT Tropang Alab, one of the league's partnered teams, lost all five of the series they played in. To make matters worse, they haven't won a single game across two weeks. This abysmal showing so far now begs the question: are TNT Tropang Alab not good enough for the PKL?
While the league still has four more weeks before the Playoffs start, all signs point to an early elimination for TNT Tropang Alab. The team clearly has the talent required to be better at PKL after they held Elevate, possibly the second strongest team in the league, to a 25-minute stalemate before losing their base.
However, after that loss against Elevate, it all went downhill. Every game they played didn't even reach the 20-minute mark or at least showed that they had what it takes to compete in the league, with two of their losses even coming under 10 minutes. With that said, TNT Tropang Alab still have the chance to turn it around in Week 3 when they play against Eureka, the seventh-placed team in the league. Until they get a single win, then it's probably safe to say that TNT Tropang Alab are not good enough for the PKL.
The Honor of Kings PKL 2025 Spring 2025 will return with Week 3 on 2 May 2025. RWE Kadiliman will face Team Flash PH in the week's opening match, with the day ending with a showdown between Blacklist International and Elevate.
