Blacklist International got a crucial win on their latest confrontation against Mahadewa Esports in the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 group stage day 3. The Philippines representative defeated the Indonesian team 2-0 to position themselves second in the group and dropped Mahadewa to third.
This loss against Blacklist International put Mahadewa into a tough spot as they are the champion of the Indonesia qualifier, Dominator Esports, for their last match. At the same time, Blacklist International got FUT Esports waiting for them. On paper, the runner-up of the Philippines qualifier got an “easier” opponent to secure their qualification to the playoff.
Speaking of qualifying for the playoffs, Fearless Esports became the first team in the tournament to receive qualification after their 2-0 win against Revenant Esports. This victory put them on top of the table for the moment as they wait for Black Shrew Esports series against Impunity on the fourth day of the group stage.
Besides Black Shrew Esports, the other Malaysian representatives got themselves a victory on the third day. Team Secret dismantled Influence Rage in a polarizing 2-0 win as they trashed the Americas Play-in winner in an 8-minute slaughter but struggled to finish them in the second one which led to a 20-minute game. On the other hand, Nova Esports got resistance in their hand as Team Falcons refused to go down without a fight. Ultimately, the Malaysian team could defeat the MENA representatives with a 2-1 score.
Day 4 of Honor of Kings Championship 2024 group stage will arrange a confrontation between two Brazilian teams as Influence Rage will meet Alpha7 to decide who's the best in Brazil. Meanwhile, Black Shrew Esports continues their journey in the tournament as they will fight Impunity. Falcons Esports will have their last chance at survival in the tournament with their series against Team Vitality. Win, and they still have a chance. Lose, and they will immediately eliminated.
