Camila Cabello and Jon Watts deliver new Diablo 4 trailer
In an effort to market Diablo 4’s upcoming expansion Vessel of Hatred, Blizzard Entertainment has released a new live-action trailer for the game. The video uses a mix of live-action and CGI to portray the expansion’s prior release date cinematic trailer in a new light, which featured Neyrelle having a troubling run-in with a Prime Evil.
This time, we see Neyrelle float along a river in the Nahantu, while a group of Spiritborn are attacked by hordes of demons, and use their animal-like abilities to dispatch them swiftly. The trailer shows off the four animal Spirit Guardians the Spiritborn can channel in combat: the Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle and Centipede.
What’s interesting is that musical artist Camila Cabello and director Jon Watts have somehow been roped in by Blizzard to produce this live-action trailer. Watts directed the trailer, while Cabello sang a cover of The Who's Behind Blue Eyes. According to a release from the company, Watts said of his involvement: “I've been playing Diablo since I was a teen and know the world really well, so when they asked me to direct the project, I was all in.”
Camila Cabello also said:
I'm so excited to bring 'Behind Blue Eyes' to Sanctuary in a fresh, new way. We took the brilliant lyrics of the original song and transformed it with the dark tones of Diablo. Not only is this song a classic and a perfect representation of what Neyrelle is going through in Vessel of Hatred, but it’s also a song that so many can identify with. Working with the Diablo team was a legendary experience, and I can't wait for everyone to hear how we’ve reimagined a classic.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8, 2024.
