Kagendra's clash laner, Hanss, admitted the squad didn't rely on their coach for drafting during the Honor of Kings Indonesia Qualifier playoff.
One of Kagendra's members, Farhan “Hanss” Ardiansyah, admitted that his team didn't rely on their coach to do the draft during the Honor of Kings Indonesia Qualifier playoff. The clash laner revealed a misconnection between the players and Coach SuHongHong's draft style.
One of the differences Hanss pointed out was the coach didn't respect banning the enemy's signature heroes which didn't sit well with the players. This explains why Kagendra's draft style differed during the Honor of Kings Indonesia Qualifier playoff at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.
When asked why they didn't rely on the coach during the playoffs, Hans replied:
“Maybe because we were unsuitable with the coach’s draft during the group stage. We want to draft ourselves because of this incompatibility.”
Hanss also explained from what angle they disagreed with the coach:
From how he didn’t respect banning enemies' signature heroes as long as we retain the (team) composition. But we want to do that; for example, if the enemy is strong with Loong, we ban him.
He also explained that the players prepared for the playoffs without the coach although they prepared with the coach during the group stage.
Kagendra's journey during the playoffs can be said to be a bitter-sweet experience. The squad got a ticket to the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 in Jakarta on October 2024. However, Dominator wiped them twice – first during the upper bracket final and then again in the grand final. Kagendra achieved the Runner-up status in the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 Indonesia Qualifier.
