Here’s everything you need to know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s beta.

Treyarch and Activision have revealed more details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s upcoming beta weekends, including the beta’s start dates, playable game modes and how players can get access. The multiplayer beta will take place over two weekends, adding more maps and game modes throughout this period.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta start dates and how to play

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta will take place over the following weekends:

  • Weekend one: August 30 (10am PT) - September 4 (10am PT)
  • Weekend two: September 6 (10am PT) - September 9 (10am PT)

As is usually the case with multiplayer betas like these, weekend one will only be available to players who have already pre-ordered the game. If you don’t have a pre-order, you’ll have to wait for weekend two, which will open up the beta to all players with additional content. Players might also want to try out both beta weekends if possible, as unique cosmetic rewards can be attained by reaching certain Player Level Milestones throughout the entire beta period.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta content

Weekend one of the beta will kick off with three maps and four modes in total, before three more maps and modes are added over the course of the weekend. Players will also be able to progress up to Level 20 for in-game unlocks. These maps include the Core maps Derelict, Scud, Skyline and Rewind, and the Strike maps Pit and Gala. Weekend one will also feature the following game modes:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Domination
  • Hardpoint
  • Kill Order
  • Face Off Team Deathmatch
  • Face Off Kill Confirmed

Weekend two will kick off with the exact same content as weekend one, with the addition of two new maps and game modes. These new maps are the Core Map Babylon and Strike map Stakeout. Additionally, new game modes Gunfight and Face Off Kill Order will be playable. Even if pre-order players have had their fill in weekend one, they might want to pop back in during weekend two as the beta’s level cap will be increased to 30.

Certain items like sprays, emotes and weapon blueprints gained from levelling up in this beta will persist through the full game’s launch. You can preload the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. This will mark the first Call of Duty entry in quite a few years to not give PlayStation players early access to the beta, due to Microsoft taking ownership of Activision in 2023.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024.
