It’s okay to take things slow sometimes.
Blizzard Entertainment recently held a developer livestream to dig into Diablo 4 post-launch, confirming that a ‘significant majority’ of its players have not completed the main campaign yet. The livestream also confirmed that XP buffs for Nightmare Dungeons are coming, along with another round of character class-balancing updates.
During a conversation relating to Diablo 4’s Nightmare Dungeons, game director Joe Shely noted that “the significant majority of our players haven't finished the game yet. But many of the people who are watching this stream, and our dedicated players, play through content much more quickly and have been experiencing this situation with the dungeons."
There you have it: if you haven’t beaten Diablo 4’s campaign yet, don’t feel too bad. There’s a long way to go until Season 1 begins, so there really isn’t any rush to beat the main story - unless you’re just trying to get to Level 100 as quickly as possible. Shely had been discussing a pain point in Diablo 4’s current endgame, which are the Nightmare Dungeons. Players have been complaining about the dungeons being too difficult for the XP and loot they provide, and have resorted to grinding away in regular dungeons as a result.
Blizzard confirmed during the livestream that Nightmare Dungeons are getting two big changes to make them more appealing to endgame players. First, the amount of XP they hold is going to be increased to make them the go-to endgame activity for levelling characters. The second is that sigils will now teleport players directly to Nightmare Dungeons upon use, allowing players to get back and forth between dungeons more quickly. These changes are planned to drop before Season 1 launches in mid-to-late July.
