Only one team will walk away with the world title and the lion's share of the two million USD prize pool.
With the wildcard stage already bringing plenty of excitement, the group stage did not disappoint. Moist Esports, Team BDS, G2 Esports, and FaZe Clan have already qualified earlier from the upper bracket and will now be joined by the four other playoff finalists. This includes the likes of FURIA Esports, Karmine Corp, The General NRG, and Version1/Spacestation Gaming.
With the first series featuring two South American teams, it was FURIA who came out on top after a seven-game thriller. NRG also manages to secure their slot in the playoffs after taking out an SMPR side that had two players competing remotely after catching COVID.
Unfortunately, second-place finishers at the Spring Major, Falcons could not keep KC out as they deny the minor region champions a spot in the playoffs. In the last series of the day, it featured an all-NA battle for the final playoff spot, which V1/SSG claimed emphatically.
This is what the Championship Sunday single-elimination bracket will look like:
Championship Sunday
The top eight teams are now set to play in a single-elimination bracket to determine who is the best team in the world at Rocket League. Undoubtedly, Moist is one of the top favourites to make it to the final four with only FURIA in their way. While the South American squad have shown fight and heart, it may not be enough against Moist who has been dominant during the group stages.
With both BDS and KC hailing from the EU, this regional match-up will prove to be an interesting encounter. The last time these two teams faced one another, KC had the upper hand after eliminating BDS from the Copa de Rocket League Winter Regional. With KC being only one of two teams left from the wildcard, they still stand a chance of making it to the grand finals. The winner will go on to face either Moist or FURIA.
As four NA teams make up the last two brackets, the live audience in attendance will not be disappointed. Whether it's G2, NRG, FaZe, or V1, there will be an NA team in the grand final, ensuring that hometown advantage in the process. Both NRG and G2 have had some great matches over the past season with the former holding the advantage in terms of success in recent history. However, G2 has been one of NA's top teams this season and they are not going to let that go easily.
FaZe and V1 have also faced one another numerous times this season with the former winning four of their last five encounters. FaZe has also been another one of NA's best and brightest and they have shown just that during the group stage. However, V1 has been on top form since the wildcard and will be looking to make a Cinderella run a reality.
