NAVI make the cut, Alliance don't; Playoff brackets set for PGL Wallachia Season 2

The modified Swiss-system phase is over. Eight teams were eliminated and eight advanced to the playoffs at PGL Wallachia Season 2. 

The first post-TI event of the season, PGL Wallachia Season 2, kicked off last week with a bang. After a hiccup getting all players to the event in time (Nigma Galaxy had to FF their first series vs Team Falcons ), there was a bit of drama between Falcons and AVULUS (which has since been resolved – and a good thing since they both advanced to the playoffs). 

With all that out of the way, there were some good Dota 2 games and front-row seats to check out some of the new potential lineups for the season. 

Despite Falcon's turbulent non-performance-based start, the MENA region team is once again at the top of the class to start the season. They finished the group stage with a 3:0 series record. The unexpected but pleasant surprise was seeing Heroic just one notch above them to take the first slot. 

Although there was much hype around the Nigma lineup featuring former PSG.Quest mid-laner Tony "No!ob" Assaf and position 4 support Omar "OmaR" Moughrabi, the team suffered after their FF. They were only able to clinch the series against beastcoast but nothing more. 

On the other hand, Natus Vincere with Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov and Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan are looking quite good, having only dropped one series. For many, rooting for NAVI with Puppey (let alone just even Puppey) was a blast from the past. It was only topped by watching El Clasico series between them and Alliance (*spoiler altert* NAVI flipped the narrative). 

Unfortunately, the nostalgia ends here as Alliance couldn't make the cut, losing their last series against Infinity. With that win, the South American team became the third of four teams participating from the region to assume a spot in the playoffs. 

The action resumes tomorrow, Thursday, October 10th with the Upper Brackets.
