After a few disappointing seasons, followed by a nine-month hiatus, Alliance is back in Dota 2.
Alliance have had quite a storied history. Formed in 2012, an all-Swedish roster (later picked up by Alliance) was one of the most dominant teams of 2013, earning first place in over ten major tournaments including G1-League, Star Series V, VI, and DreamHack Summer 2013. Their most notable achievement was taking first place in The International 3, after a thrilling 3-2 victory in the finals against Natus Vincere.
Since then, things had gone downhill. After a rough go of the DPC 2021-22 season, the team ultimately ended on a dismal note with a 0:14 record in the Summer Tour. Just weeks before The International 2022 kicked off, Alliance released their full roster with plans to 'double down' their commitment to Dota 2 for the next season.
Following a full rebuild of their Western Europe line-up, which featured old friends joined by two SEA representatives, Alliance extended its reach into South America.
Both teams were released in December 2023 and the famed organization temporarily left the Dota 2 scene – until now.
Alliance is back.
The Swedish organization has picked up Dandelions, a Western European team that has been competing in regional qualifiers and Tier 2 and 3 events.
The team has an invite to the PGL Wallachia Season 2, which is set to begin next week on October 4th. Kharis "SkyLark" Zafeiriou will stand in during the event. Jonathan 'Loda' Berg will be the coach.
