PSG Quest welcome back Malik, who was a standin for them at the Riyadh Masters.

Sometime towards the tail end of the 2022-2023 Dota 2 season, PSG Quest (Quest Esports back then) had found the perfect recipe for success with Ammar “Ammar” Assaf. But when contract talks didn’t work out as either party would have wanted, Ammar’s short stay with PSG Quest ended, and they were looking for an offlaner for the Riyadh Masters.
Abdimalik “Malik” Sailau, who was under contract with Na’Vi back then, stood in for PSG Quest, and they showed pretty decent chemistry. Even though they were eliminated in 9th-12th place, they did top their group before the playoffs. Knowing the chemistry the four other players have with Malik, PSG Quest have brought him back for the start of the 2023-2024 Dota 2 season.
PSG Quest qualified for TI12 through the Western European qualifiers with Tobias “Tobi” Buchner. But their performance in Seattle was massively subpar, where they got eliminated in phase one of the group stage. A change was bound to come in the post TI12 roster shuffle, and since the organization already had plans for a long term roster with the other four players, it would have been an easy prediction where the change was coming.
Now this season is a bit different. There are no DPC Leagues, and there is a chance roster integrity might not mean as much as the previous few seasons. The announcement says that Malik is back for ESL One Kuala Lumpur, but there is no indication on whether this is on a wait and see basis, or whether they will stick with the roster for the entire season.
