In what was the most one-sided series on The International 2023 main stage, Gaimin Gladiators ran over Azure Ray to reach Top 3.
After the second day in the main event at The International 2023 featured some of the longest games of the tournament, the last series of the day brought fast-paced Dota played to perfection by Gaimin Gladiators.
Azure Ray opened the draft with a Naga Siren pick, which gave GG all the time needed to come with perfect answers. They completely out-drafted the Chinese teams and forced them to a fast-paced tempo with a Chaos Knight carry and an offlane Underlord, who despite being out of the meta right now, made perfect sense against a Naga draft. Gladiators took the first game win in just 22 minutes and proceeded to an even more dominant victory in the next match.
First Huskar pick at TI12
Game two brought the first Huskar pick of the tournament. It was GG’s last pick for Quinn "Quinn" Callahan who crushed the mid lane and the entire AR line-up in a quick stomp.
Gaimin Gladiators started the game with 4 kills at minute zero as the two teams clashed in the river for the spawning Bounty Runes. GG had a 2K gold lead right from the get-go, which extended to 6K gold lead at the 5-minute mark. There was nothing that Azure Ray could do to salvage the disastrous start and Gaimin Gladiators went on claiming the most dominant victory witnessed so far at The International 2023.
While Azure Ray bows out in the 4th place at TI12, Gaimin Gladiators are now one series away from making it to the grand finals. The three-time major champions in 2023 will return to the stage on Sunday, October 29 for the lower bracket finals against LGD Gaming.
