China suffers big losses at MDL Chengdu Major

As the playoffs of MDL Chengdu Major continue to advance, two of China's teams were knocked out of contention.

It was a tough day for China. Half of their representing teams were knocked out in one fell swoop.

Team Liquid proved to be too much for EHOME to handle. After over 50 minutes of game play in which both teams seemed to be neck and neck, the Europeans were able to pull ahead taking good fight after good fight and the following events just fell into place for Liquid to claim the first victory. The second match was a convincing one-sided affair for Team Liquid as they easily cruised to take the win and the series.

Alliance has been building quite a fearsome reputation as of late and Team Aster was forced to attempt to knock them down. Unfortunately for the Chinese team, they could not. The first match was given easily to the Swedish based team, but Aster pushed them to their limit in the second game with a grueling 66-minute game and seizing the tying win. Alliance are fighters and never seem to give up. In fact, they seem to be fueled by aggression and pressure and they hit back hard in the third game with an overwhelming victory in under 30 minutes.

Both eliminated teams walk away with $25,000 and 150 DPC points to start the season, a small consolation prize for losing so early on home soil.

The action resumes with two sets of best-of-three lower bracket elimination series, followed by two upper bracket events.
