paiN Gaming and Test123 are headed to The Chongqing Major

The teams for The Chongqing Major is shaping up quickly as paiN Gaming and Test123 join the ranks.

The first two teams to claim a spot were Fnatic and TNC for SEA, followed by NoPangolier and Virtus.pro. Now, South America has determined their two teams to represent the region.

It hasn't been much of a surprise of tough competition for paiN Gaming and Test123 (formerly paiN X). The two teams were also the region's two representatives for The Kuala Lumpur Major. paiN Gaming took a disappointing 13-16th place finish at the main event while Test123 (then paiN X) got slightly better results with a 9-12th place finish.

The two teams topped their respective groups, both with undefeated records and then went on the same through the playoffs until they met face to face. There, it was once again Test123 that came out slightly ahead with the 2:1 victory over paiN Gaming for the first slot.

Test123 roster:
United States Ravindu "Ritsu" Kodippili
United States Quinn "CC&C" Callahan
Brazil Rodrigo Lelis "Liposa" Santos
United States Francis "FrancisLee" Lee
United States Kartik "Kitrak" Rathi

paiN were then dropped to the lower brackets where they once again dominated their opponents with a 2:0 sweep and took the second spot for the big event.

paiN Gaming roster:
Brazil William 'hFnk3' Medeiros
Romania Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi
Brazil Otávio 'tavo' Gabriel
Brazil Danylo 'KINGRD' Nascimento
Denmark Rasmus 'MISERY' Filipsen

China, Europe, and NA Chongqing Major closed qualifiers are only gearing up to start today, November 28th through the 30th. Three representatives from all three of the remaining regions will head to The Chongqing Major.

StarLadder and ImbaTV will be hosting the second Major of the DPC 2018-2019 season in Chongqing, China. The Chongqing Major will be held from the 19th to the 27th of January 2019 with sixteen of the world's best teams competing for the largest slice of the $1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points.
