The teams for The Chongqing Major is shaping up quickly as paiN Gaming and Test123 join the ranks.
The first two teams to claim a spot were Fnatic and TNC for SEA, followed by NoPangolier and Virtus.pro. Now, South America has determined their two teams to represent the region.
It hasn't been much of a surprise of tough competition for paiN Gaming and Test123 (formerly paiN X). The two teams were also the region's two representatives for The Kuala Lumpur Major. paiN Gaming took a disappointing 13-16th place finish at the main event while Test123 (then paiN X) got slightly better results with a 9-12th place finish.
The two teams topped their respective groups, both with undefeated records and then went on the same through the playoffs until they met face to face. There, it was once again Test123 that came out slightly ahead with the 2:1 victory over paiN Gaming for the first slot.
Test123 roster:
Ravindu "Ritsu" Kodippili
Quinn "CC&C" Callahan
Rodrigo Lelis "Liposa" Santos
Francis "FrancisLee" Lee
Kartik "Kitrak" Rathi
paiN were then dropped to the lower brackets where they once again dominated their opponents with a 2:0 sweep and took the second spot for the big event.
