FDL takes 3 - 2 victory over NP to qualify for Northern Arena BEAT Invitational

Started two weeks ago, on September 17, the qualifiers for Northern Arena BEAT Invitational ended last night with a highly disputed matchup between NP and FDL.

NP and Friendship, Dedication, Love (FDL) faced each other for the first time in the upper bracket second round when Envy’s team knocked FDL down into the lower bracket. Fighting for their lives, FDL eliminated on their way back to the grand finals EverNovaS, Freedom, and Infamous and claimed the rematch against NP.

In the best of five grand finals, the two teams went neck and neck trading games up to the deciding game five. NP took game one with ease in only 25 minutes, only to lose the next one at the end of an 86 minutes exhausting fight where FDL’s Terror Blade had to go for an unconventional Refresher Orb. Going into game three, NP came back strong once again to crush FDL’s greedy line - up with both Ursa and Morphling and took the victory in under 25 minutes with a total 22 to 5 kill score in their favor. However, game four and five were won by FDL, who claimed the qualifier spot with a support Silencer pick in the deciding game to counter the big team fight potential of NP.

Qualified for Northern Arena BEAT Invitational, FDL joins Digital Chaos, Evil Geniuses, Alliance and compLexity Gaming at the $100,000 LAN event scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada at Bell Center from 11th to 13th of November. Three more teams are yet to be announced as direct invites to event.
