Interviews with Zyori and EG.Charlie - Behind the scenes at DAC

GosuGamers' onsite coverage of the Dota 2 Asian Championships continue, this time with Sheever getting interviews with two of the people helping to make the scene tick - Beyond The Summit's Andrew 'Zyori' Campbell, and EG Manager Charlie 'Monolith' Yang.

Zyori: It's very unfortunate how travel and politics have not kept up with eSports.

In the interview, Zyori talks about the food in China, the organisation of the DAC, BeyondTheSummit's development and his picks for the overall tournament winners. In particular, he talks about how BTS has been trying to cope with their growth, and their reaction to missing out on attending this DAC live, as well as how BTS is moving forward in creating production.

In the midst of the talk in BTS, Zyori also mentions The Summit 3 and the potential plans for the Summit 4 & 5. They also have a discussion on the development of the Dota 2 competitive scene - the oversaturation of tournaments, the possibility of a Masters League, and even competition between casting studios.

Monolith: The chairs provided at DAC were not so great, I went to Ikea and bought chairs

In the interview with Charlie 'Monolith' Yang, he talks about the organisation of the DAC, and the performance of EG thus far. He also talks about the decision to pick up SumaiL after losing Arteezy, and the in-game dynamics of the team. Of key interest is his views upon the dynamics of the new roster of EG, and the expectations placed upon them moving forward.

Monolith also talks about his role as the manager of EG - which explains his position in helping the team in all ways, be it anger management, player comfort, and negotiating on their behalf. He also points out the issues with the DAC's group stage format, which did not incentivise the first and second positions in the group stage.
