Esportal League invitational: C9, Secret, Tinker and more

The first invitational for the Esportal League has been announced with eight teams including Cloud 9, Secret Team, Team Tinker and Virtus Pro. Not only will the teams compete for a prizepool of €15,000, the winner will also seize a spot in the LAN finals next year. Hellraisers have already clinched their spot for this Stockholm-based tournament.

The first qualifier ended two days ago with Hellraisers battling past 255 teams to take the €2000 prize and their spot in the Esportal League LAN finals following their convincing victory over Vega Squadron. The second qualifier of the tournament has been announced with a bigger prize pool and only eight invited teams. Cloud 9, Secret Team, Team Tinker, Virtus Pro, Alliance, Team Empire, VP Polar and Power Rangers will all compete for the first prize of €7000 and the chance to join Hellraisers in the LAN finals.

Beginning on December 10th, the invitational qualifier will run for four days in a single elimination bracket and conclude on December 14th. Team Empire and Cloud 9 will have to defeat Power Rangers and Alliance respectively to meet each other in the semi-finals, while Team Tinker and Secret Team find themselves against VP.Polar and Virtus Pro in their half of the bracket.

This is only the second qualifier out of eight scheduled before the Stockholm based finals in March 2015. In the remaining six qualifiers there will be two more invitational qualifiers, two ladder qualifiers and two more open qualifiers to finalize the eight finalists for a total prize pool of €110,000.

In the conclusion to the open qualifier for the Esportal League finals, Hellraisers were able to pull through a close encounter with Balkan Bears Corleone in the semi-finals. Dropping the opening map to Aliwi 'w33haaa' Omar and his team, Hellraisers fought back to win the remaining two games and secured their spot in the finals. In the finals they went up against Vega Squadron, who are also on a run of good form, but Hellraisers took them down with ease winning both games within thirty minutes. The €2000 victory cements a good run of form for the Russian team.
