Famous Chinese pubstar Tianyu 'cty' Chen, formerly of Vici Gaming and RisingStars is contemplating on his return to the competitive scene.
Tianyu 'cty' Chen, considered one of the youngest and most talented players in China is rumoured to be making his return to the competitive circuit. Previously a known pubstar within the Chinese scene, Cty broke out into the professional circuit when he was recruited by Panpan 'PandaPanPan' Zhang to represent Vici Gaming alongside Fenrir, sydm, Fy and Xtt.
He made his debut in G-League in 2012 with VG, who were relatively new to the scene during that time period. Initially, despite showing a lacklustre performance, VG took the community by surprise when they beat TongFu 2-0 and qualified for the play-offs.
However, it was during Dota 2 Super League, hosted by Perfect World, that VG actually managed to grab the required attention by defeating the Chinese powerhouse LGD Gaming in the opening match. This was the time when CTY came into the spotlight with his Shadow Demon and Clockwerk plays that shattered LGD's playstyle.
By the end of August 2013, Cty parted ways with Vici Gaming after which he was later acquired by RisingStars in a star studded line-up, only for the organization to close it's doors shortly thereafter. After a brief hiatus, rumours now surface contemplating his return to Dota 2 alongside LGD Gaming's Yao 'Maybe' Lu.
According to Junjie 'sydm' Tong, Cty and Maybe will form a second team for LGD, a hint that was dropped by LGD when they announced Peng 'Icy' Wang as a replacement for Maybe in LGD's first team. If this rumour holds out to be true, it will be interesting to see which other players would join. Would it be Chinese veterans or new blood?
