Eight Asia-based teams participating on WD Dota 2 Pro Series

Seven SEA teams and one South Korea-based team will be facing each other in the WD Dota 2 Pro Series. There will be a $3,000 prize pool, which will be divided across six different single-elimination tournaments.

The invited teams are:

  • Malaysia Titan
  • Malaysia Arrow Gaming
  • Malaysia Orange eSports
  • Singapore Scythe.SG
  • Philippines Mineski
  • Indonesia Rex Regum Qeon
  • Thailand MiTH.Trust
  • United States Zephyr

These eight teams will be fighting in six independent single-elimination tournaments, with the champion taking all the bounty available for each series. Each leg winner will receive $500, for a total of $3,000 across six series.

While most of the teams are already somewhat familiar with each other, Zephyr is a fresh addition to the others. Being a new team, they have mostly competed in South Korean tournaments, with their lone SEA tournament being the AOC Pro Cup on which they did not do very well.

The first series will take place this 22 March, and the next series will be following right after the other. The games of the quarterfinals will be best-of-one, the games of the semifinals best-of-three, and the games of the finals best-of-five. The full schedule for the Pro Series is:

  • Series 1: 22 March - 6 April
  • Series 2: 7 April - 20 April
  • Series 3: 21 April - 4 May
  • Series 4: 5 May - 18 May
  • Series 5: 19 May - 1 June
  • Series 6: 2 June - 6 June
