Hear the roar of the Year Beast

After getting announced last week to be featured in this patch, here it is - the Year Beast. Players utilize whatever Ingot they have gathered to buy items and deal as much damage as possible to the beast. It will only stay for a day.

The New Bloom patch went live last week, adding Terrorblade and Phoenix into the game client. In theme with the Chinese Spring Festival, the map changed visuals to more accommodate the special occasion. It was also let known that players would receive Ingot for matches played during the time between then and the arrival of the Year Beast - an event that would take a place one week afterwards. That week is now over and players are encouraged to grab their Ingot and face off with the mighty beast. Up to five players can rally up against it until 21.00 CET tomorrow (3pm EST / 4am SGT), a quite short period for such an event. It could indicate that there is more to develop out if afterwards. Or it could in fact just be a short-lived event, however it would be a strange move especially judging by the pressure on the servers already shown the short period it has been live so far.

Each Ingot allows you to have 40 gold within the mode, the gold is used to buy items and eventually buyback just as in regular Dota 2. The gold can also be spent on fireworks. The more damage dealt to the beast, the higher rank the party will receive which is in direct co-relation with the quality of the loot.

The Year Beast has a larger arsenal of abilities to use, some of them single target and others over an area. All of them deal tons of damage, which combined with the speed and the size the beast makes it quite hard to stand against it. Certain items and hero combinations will work better than others, similar to how Roshan worked during Diretide.
