Just a few days after the end of the qualifiers, in which Power Rangers took second place, the Belarus squad has turned to publicly announcing their withdrawal from the tournament.
The team, who managed to clinch second place in the European qualifiers, was given a slot to attend the LAN event in Paris with the Russians, Team Empire. However, due to their second place finish, the trip to Paris would not have been sponsored by ESWC as only the first place winner is entitled to an all-expenses paid trip. The lack of funding led to PR's decision to forfeit the slot.
The announcement came just well over an hour ago on the team's official twitter page in which they stated:
Bad news for fans. Our team refused to participate in ESWC Finals in Paris. We are going to concentrate on EMS One and Fragbite Masters.
When asked why the team had chosen to refuse the slot, they replied:
players, manager and sponsor decided that EMS One and Fragbite Masters are more important things to concentrate on
Looking at the other teams from the qualifiers, the most probable replacement would be Virtus.Pro considering that they are the most well known team that made it to the semifinals. However, this is still unconfirmed as Power Rangers told GosuGamers that they are not aware of who the replacement might be.
